Waterfront Toronto has been working with Harbourfront Centre since 2005 on a series of new public spaces designed to transform an area dominated by a surface parking lot into an engaging waterfront destination. Central to the project was the construction of a new underground parking garage. By moving the parking lot underground, the surface area was opened up for the creation of three new public spaces: Canada Square, Ontario Square and Exhibition Common.1
What was previously street level parking is now a landscaped gathering place and pedestrian thoroughfare punctuated with greenery and seating. Maglin manufactured the expansive custom concrete and ipe wood benches located in Ontario Square.
Materials: Concrete, Ipe wood
