Art on the Move: Woodstock’s Creative Approach to Bike Parking

Maglin Site Furniture is proud to have collaborated with the Woodstock Art Gallery on Woodstock Art Cycle, a celebration of public art and placemaking through functional design. We fabricated and donated fifty custom bike racks, transforming the visions of five local artists into vibrant, everyday installations.

Each design tells a unique story of Woodstock. Adele Figliomeni captured the city’s cultural fabric—library, theater, music, and sports—fused into a single, dynamic form. Heidi Fotsch and Filomena McMahon honored Woodstock’s title as the Dairy Capital, bringing playful cow-inspired designs to life. Nicole Major looked to the city’s trails, encouraging moments of pause and connection with nature, while Claudia Silva Prates drew from her family’s love of cycling, celebrating the joy of exploring Woodstock on two wheels.

Constructed with a durable steel frame and laser-cut steel panels, each bike stand brings the artists’ design to life with intricate precision. A vibrant powdercoat palette of turquoise, orange, green, black, and yellow ensures they stand out as both functional bicycle parking and public art.

Woodstock Art Cycle demonstrates the community’s commitment to cultural enrichment and active transportation, transforming everyday infrastructure into a platform for local creativity. These bespoke bike racks spark conversation, celebrate community identity, and enhance the public realm with bold, artistic expression.
