Energizing the Streetscape at Duke Energy Plaza

Back to Projects

Vibrant urban furniture for vibrant urban spaces

Completed in 2023, Duke Energy Plaza is a bold new addition to Uptown Charlotte. As Duke Energy’s headquarters, the LEED Gold-certified tower embodies sustainable design, workplace innovation, and urban connectivity. While its striking architecture shapes the skyline, its impact at street level creates a dynamic, people-centered space.

Maglin’s site furniture plays a key role in activation at street level. Vibrant Kontur Chairs and FORO Tables form inviting seating areas for casual meetings, outdoor work sessions, and quiet moments of pause. Positioned near a water feature that softens city noise and provides natural cooling, these elements contribute to a comfortable, welcoming environment. Nearby shade trees and flower beds further enhance the space, offering relief from the urban heat.

Maglin’s Iconic Bike Racks support cycling infrastructure and offer a sleek complement to the site’s modern aesthetic, promoting active transportation within Charlotte’s evolving urban core. Conveniently located Lexicon dual-stream waste and recycling containers uphold the clean, streamlined atmosphere while ensuring responsible waste management.

Landscape architecture firm HGOR led the site design, with CBI Workspace Solutions contributing additional furniture selections. Thoughtfully curated site elements blend work, leisure, and social interaction, making the space both functional and engaging. Duke Energy Plaza demonstrates how contemporary architecture and placemaking can work together to enhance the city experience at every level.
